In many, if not most, cases the clients have the answers they need .... they just need help gathering and interpreting what their various individuals know into a workable solution. By listening, gathering and analyzing the knowledge of the client, in many cases we are able to develop solutions which solve the issue at hand in an elegant and familiar approach to the client. This helps from management, operability and maintenance perspectives.
With real world experience solving real world problems we've noticed many engineers like to overly complicate solutions. I most cases the simplest solution is the most elegant, maintainable, functional, cost-effective solution. Accordingly, this is our default approach.
